This was really interesting to me but I'll have to read it again to find out if I've understood it. Euclid's axioms are valid in plane geometry but the 5th is not valid on a curved surface, such as a sphere. This has been known for aeons. What is also true is that a point or a line cannot validly drawn in the physical universe. The marks have some dimension. Try drawing a line in pencil, according to the strict definition of a line. It can't be done.
The more I read about Chess, the more I'm impressed by the genius of its inventors. R.
