Thank you Lichess for being such a great organization! I do have a couple of suggestions. One, be more transparent about who it is that is doing this work. Like, who is Lichess? Meet the staff kind of thing. Two, it would be nice to have a preview of what is to come in 2026.

We have this list https://lichess.org/thanks which includes past and current individuals that work on Lichess.
There are approximately 80-100 members in the group of people doing regular work on the site. There are hundreds more that have have made smaller contributions to the site in coding, broadcasting, translations, etc..
The 80-100 are volunteers and their names or usernames are only made public if they agree to that. We appreciate their help and respect their right to privacy.

we used to announce projects we were working on in the year end update. One year we mentioned a project that turned out to be much more complicated than we had expected and that project still hasn't been completed in recent years. This was a bit embarrassing so we are a bit more reluctant to pre announce projects we are discussing in case we decide not to make those changes.

That makes sense. Thanks for the explanation.

I made one too! It changes how standard and crazyhouse games are rated to account for first move advantage. :-)
